Principal Consultants

Anne Wine

An experienced product and market development leader with the ability to both develop the strategy and lead the implementation.  Security cleared to work on secure Government and financial projects at the highest levels.

Twenty years of consultancy advising clients in both private and public sector specialising in technical sales and marketing strategies, communication strategies, in high value new market start-ups and in service re-launches for major corporations.  Anne has a record of successful investment proposals and achieving Board level commitment.

Anne has completed numerous successful projects for clients including HP, the EU, VISA and Royal Mail in addition to confidential Government work.

Brian Barnes

Brian has worked in the IT Industry for 25 years with responsibility for systems specification, design, implementation management, technology and business consultancy.  He is cleared to work on secure Government and financial projects at the highest levels.

From a technical background at the MOD, researching systems design, Brian has held technical, sales, marketing and consultancy roles with a number of industry leaders.

For Burroughs Machines he was the mid range systems manager responsible for the innovative "A series" introduction. For Unisys he provided systems to the utilities sector, with significant input to the Electricity industry during their privatisation phase. for Imagesolve and Banktec he provided Document Management expertise specifically to control information flow, workflow, scanning and data capture to major UK financial institutions.   His experience with world-wide communications systems is invaluable to many of our clients.

Recent work has utilised Brian's skills in contract negotiation between Government Departments and multi-national service providers. This continues through the subsequent project management to ensure quality service delivery.

Sheridan Hall

Sheridan Hall has worked in the computer industry for over twenty-five years. His experience spans both hardware and software, having designed and developed networking products, now in use world-wide.  Security cleared to work on secure Government and financial projects at the highest levels.

Sheridan has held senior technical positions Mannesmann Tally and Sintrom Electronics Ltd. As Technical Director of Optech Ltd, he specialised in networking and multimedia systems, for seven years. Since then much of his work has involved advising corporate customers and managing one-off projects such as data migration between systems.

He has been involved in many large and successful projects including; OPCS (1991 census), Nomura and Daiwa Banks (Communications and networking for trading systems), The Patent Office (Document scanning and archiving), British Airways (World wide communications), Skipton Building Society (Document Imaging System migration) National Express Coaches (Web site creation, development and support) and Global Crossing (Network upgrading, testing and reporting).

Experienced in the support of PC products and networks, Sheridan has presented talks at UK and European conferences and had articles published on subjects including CD-ROM, Networking, Printing and associated technologies.

Kevan Draper

Kevan Draper has been employed in international business development and project management with such companies as Plessey Telenet, British Telecom International and Midland Network Services, before joining AVSI as a senior consultant. He was responsible for the sale and subsequent project management of the global communications infrastructure for Holiday Inn World-wide. At MNS he was solely responsible for the establishment of Fastrak as a competitor to Istel in the Travel sector. As head of sales for BTI Australia, his communications experience includes setting up the global call centre for national Australia Bank, a risk management system for the trading floors and another for reporting faults on equipment. All provide global support based on a 24 hour call centre operation. Kevan was also responsible for the establishment of the call centre at the UK telephone banking service, First Direct, which is part of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation.

Philip Holt

An experienced IT professional with excellent knowledge of a wide range of hardware and software applications and vertical markets including Manufacturing, Government and Retailing and Distribution sectors. Specialising in EDI, communications, computer security, crisis and disaster management and IT law, Philip is one of the very few laymen to have taken the University of London's IT law classes.

Susan Buck

With many years experience as a software developer, Sue has the skills to define and manage complex and long-term projects.

Her experience covers both back office and customer facing systems with an expertise ensuring systems are not only computationally efficient but most importantly are optimised to be 'user friendly' resulting in minimal errors and frustration.  Sue is an excellent project manager while maintaining her 'hands-on' programming skills to lead and support programmers working on her projects. Sue has delivered numerous projects for Nation and Local Government and major corporates on time and on budget, many earning high praise for their ease of use and reliability.

Alan Ford

A strong background in industrial process control projects and customer-facing systems gives Alan a tremendous grasp of real-world problems - and how to solve them.

Alan is another of our project managers who maintains his hands-on programming skills to ensure an empathy with his team and a detailed understanding of end-user expectations.

Other Consulting skills

Technical skills include the hardware design and development of computer systems for communications products and also the development of software for commercial data communications products.

Management of teams of development staff, both hardware and software, performing to defined timescales and deliverables.

System requirement studies, management of subsequent bid evaluation and supplier management (including contract discussions) and ensuing project implementation.

Design and implementation of solutions from established suppliers to manage both incoming and outgoing processing of trading documents such as Orders, Invoices, etc.

Consultancy to Royal Mail, to develop the strategy and sales for several new business opportunities and initiatives including EDI facilities such as Response EDI (which are now in the public domain).

DTI representation on the EC evaluation panel of European technical experts assessing the last round of TEDIS II project funding awards.

EDI Consultancy to HM government to develop, manage and implement trading via EDI.

Consultancy to a number of commercial and public sector bodies to review and advise on their existing EDI operations.

Membership of the 'CASTS' (Communications And Software Technical Support) Working Group of the GIS (Government Interest Section) Sub-Group on Procurement and Supply within the auspices of the UK EDI Association.

Document Management and Information workflow control, expertise in land registry systems, multi-million document backfile conversation exercises and workflow design.
